Masked

Hiding behind the façade of a million
She loses herself
To the pretense of her reality

She fools her audience
She deceives the World
When she laughs
Everything is perfect

That’s what they see

A mask of iron
Crafted delicately
To that of a beauty
Above all other
Never shattered
Never willing to yield
Never reveals
The wearer

She dances across the
Imperfections of the stage
She cuts herself
And flashes the most
Stunning grin
She falls
Yet it seems like
It was intended
She cries
Tears
That would forever betray
Her watchers

She drifts back
Behind the closed curtains
And brushes aside the pain
Smiling still
She is the greatest actress
Misleading others
Deluding herself
Until she is
Empty
